What is Roadrunner SMB?
Roadrunner SMB is an SMB3 gateway for Amazon EFS® with optional multi-node high availability. It provides:
- Configurable 1–4 node deployments — 1-node for evaluation, trial, and non-HA use; multi-node for production HA; resize 1–4 from Admin UI Cluster page after deploy
- Clustered Samba state coordination (CTDB) with customer-facing routing/failover via AWS load balancing, ECS health checks, and Roadrunner SMB readiness/fencing
- Amazon EFS storage for share data and cluster coordination
- Active Directory® integration for domain-authenticated access
- Admin UI over HTTPS/443 via
AdminUIUrlorAFirstTimeSetupInstructionson the parent CloudFormation® stack Outputs tab (Marketplace) - Multi-AZ-ready deployment for resilience against AZ-level failures when using multiple nodes and subnets
Roadrunner SMB is deployed via AWS Marketplace CloudFormation into your existing VPC. No additional infrastructure components are required beyond what the CloudFormation stack creates.
